Fire, Fire, Need More Towels

Fire, fire, need more towels is part of a hilarious Brown family joke. But to get to the real blog post we had the best freebie ever in October. It was fire safety awareness month in October and the Hall of Flame Fire Museum in Phoenix does a free day at the end of the month. Tons of fire trucks come and a few take turns giving people rides around the block. We were able to walk right on to a 1948 fire truck and take a ride around the block at top speed with us standing in the back of the truck! Super cool! I think Frank and I liked it more than the kids but it was so so so neat to ride in that truck. Pictures below.
We got to spray a real fire hose! We got to play in a real actively used fire truck!
Charles loved this old school truck toy and fought off others who wanted to drive it.

Maelee fell head over heels in love with Smokey the Bear. She talked about him for days afterward and cried when we left because she missed him already.

More fire truck driving.

Maelee and Chuck loved ringing the bell!

Here is the truck we rode around the block on.
Here is a view from our ride.

Here we are in the back of the truck.
