Weekend Update

We decided to break our normal routine this past Friday night and actually leave the house on a real live date. We got to go to a rockin' 70's party, for a friend's 30th birthday. It was so well planned out and a very special party with lots of work from this lucky guys sweet wife! She rented out an airplane museum, hired a DJ, disco dance instructors and had tons of yummy food for the event! She made sure everyone had a wonderful time, it was a great night! I even talked Frank into dressing up and growing a mustache and chops for the event. I wish I would have brought my camera to the party because it was such a fun atmosphere with the planes and all of the others who went all out and dressed 70's style. The birthday boy even had fake chest hair that he wore under his shirt, awesome! We tried to win the best dressed for 70's, but apparently we looked like "70's parents" and not cool kids from the 70's like some of the others. I admit we did look like 70's parents, but it was fun wearing my gma' and gpa's old clothes anyway. Notice Frank's plaid jacket and the awesome collar on my shirt.
I tried to do disco hair and some jeans and boots with some gold material but it wasn't as successful as I hoped it would be....
A close up of the 70's parents and my attempt at disco jeans.
At the party we made pet rocks, learned several disco dances with the help of the dance instructor, participated in the limbo and soul train and got to spend some time around amazing WWI, II and Vietnam war planes. So cool!

On another note I was thrilled to see that as soon as I arrived at the All for Ashlee Fundraiser and set the dolls down on the sale table, they were literally all purchased in less than 5 minutes! It was the perfect time to show up because it was one lady who bought them all. They went for $10 each. It may have inspired me to try and set up a boutique sale with other fellow crafters and etsy girls anybody want to join efforts and have a summer boutique sale (maybe August)? Leave me a comment and we can work out the time and place...

Also for my mom and mil here are some recent pictures of Maelee.
{Taken just after she finished a new favorite activity which consists of carrying something to the top of the stairs and then throwing it back down, usually through the stair rails}

{Maelee feeding herself, which although isn't particularly successful yet it is one of the only ways I can get her to eat her fruit and veggies sometimes}

{Maelee likes to get Chloe's dog bones out of the cupboard and carry them around teasing her with them}
{One of her many favorite things to put outside through the dog door is the TV remote control, please note batteries and other toys around the remote outside}

Hey Kamarah-
Could I special order one of those dolls? I thought they were so cute, but didn't get a chance to get over there. Let me know. Thanks.

I think you guys looked great for the party!!! And poor Chloe being taunted by Maelee! We went to the garage sale but arrived before you did and had to leave pretty quick! Bummer!

I can't believe you sold those for $10! Good grief - they were awesome. If I didn't live so far away, I would've been there for sure. If you're making them again...seriously!
Glad to hear you had great success.

Hey Kamarah--I would totally love to do the craft thing with you...but would that require some sort of crafty talent, non of which belong to me!

The dolls great, The outfits better, Maelee's new talent with the stairs and remote the best!

When I see how big she is getting it makes me realize just how big Dax is too. I don't know if you feel the same but everyone elses kids seem to be getting so much bigger than my own...until in a moment you realize the same goes for yours and you ask "when did that happen?
