July Jewels

The three big deals in our family for July happen in the first 4 days.

My Mom's birthday (BB holding Charlie with that sweet baby stare)

Franks Dad's birthday (A cute vintage photo of Roy and Maelee around the time of his birthday last year)

And the 4th of July. Which with a new baby was happily spent in town at my mom's pool. Maelee had a blast with Paige and Kaylee and swam her guts out.

We got to know Charles a lot better in July. He was slightly less sleepy which allowed more of his personality to come out.

I say slightly less sleepy because he slept through his first pool adventure. 45 minutes sitting with me in the shade on the steps of Ed's pool with both eyes shut and in dream land.

He has already mastered the Frank Adams glare. He loves his Mama.

And loves his big sister. And started smiling a whole lot. He is easy to please and read so far.
With the end of July we happily mark down one less month until we change church meeting times. Maelee does not do well with late nap Sunday's. And with me desperately trying to get Charlie into some sort of routine we stayed home more than usual. Maelee was OK with all the extra time at home though because she has been blessed with an incredible imagination. Here she is in the couch boat which gave us several days and hours of entertainment.
We also played train station several times. With stops for her peoples at the movie store (DVD rack), the zoo (Larry Lion and company), the food store (her play kitchen), etc.
Maelee is also getting very observant and talking a lot. She listens to and repeats much of what she hears us say. She compliments Charlie on good burps before I can "Good job buddy!" she tells him. One trip to the grocery store I almost had a collision with another shopper and their cart. I startled and apologized to them which caused Maelee to scream at me for the rest of the time in the store whenever we passed someone in the aisle "WATCH OUT MOM." And on the same trip told me on the way out of the grocery store about the bagger who was trying to get her to smile at him "he's driving me nuts mom."
