Its lots of fun to see Maelee's brain in action. Here she is below in her Elasta Girl mask. Recently becoming a fan of The Incredibles, Maelee told me the other day when my hair was down "Mom you look like Elasta Girl." Funny she made the connection. Here's to you brain synapses!
Here Charles is celebrating one of his first "tricks" the fine motor skill of grasping objects. Its fun to celebrate holding wooden spoons!
Blessing 30 {Cereal Boxes}
In Maelee's birthday post I commented on how thankful I am for saving cereal boxes. We have found ourselves making all sorts of fun things out of them. Houses, hats, bird wings, school buses. Here's to you being resourceful thanks for the inspiration a simple cardboard box can bring to a slow day.
I found some fun summer clearance items at my favorite store the other day. One of them being this umbrella for $2.50. I had one just like it when I was a little girl. Same color scheme anyway. My mom didn't get mad at me for opening it in the house and let me twirl it and enjoy it, so Maelee got to get one just like mine!
Charles went from sleeping 20 hours a day to smiling 20 hours a day as he approaches his 3rd month of life. Frank got him to extend that smile into a laugh and it was an exciting day.

Blessing 33 {Happy}
Instead of saying "cheese" when we take pictures with Maelee to get her to smile we have always said "happy." Not consciously did we do it, but now its hilarious to see her many versions of the "happy" for pictures faces. Most recently it is her eyes being squeezed shut. Not ideal for pictures, but happy is happy I suppose.
Today Frank told Maelee that it is 2 more weeks until college football season starts. Hooray for a team to cheer for and wearing Florida State shirts on game days (Frank wears them all the time, I limit my shirts to game days - garnet and gold are great but a girl needs color).
