We started looking for a rocking chair 4 years ago. We found out that a nice sturdy one was a lot more expensive than we thought. We settled for one on discount at Tillies (with a loose arm which eventually came all the way off a few months later). Then when I was pregnant with Maelee Frank and I happened to walk by a tiny garage sale and saw a big beautiful rocking chair. It had its faults, its legs had been chewed on by a dog and it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke - BUT - when I found out that this sturdy, chubby, mostly gorgeous rocking chair was only $5 I skipped away (Frank carried the chair of course so I could do this) with 5 less dollars in my pocket and a new rocking chair. My new project quickly became sanding the chew marks off the legs and getting the chair ready to be painted. A few weeks and some red paint later a treasure was put into Maelee's future room.
I LOVE my red rocking chair for many reasons, not only was it the deal of the century but it has been a major Maelee tool. It has contributed to at least 200 breathing treatments, literally over 1,000 naps, prayers, scripture study, the reading of many books, and the ultimate calmer for a sick or upset Maelee in the middle of the night. Here's to you rocking chair, may you stay sturdy and strong and keep your characteristic creaks for decades to come!

That is such a beautiful rocking chair. What a wonderful thing to have.
I tagged you on my blog. Check it out!
Kamarah how wonderful to read your comment on our blog!! Everything is going well we have bought a house out in the Queen Creek area to be closer to Justin's work. We must have been crazy to move right now but the old ward, new ward and the family all helped to make it possible. Ammon and Thomas are in all day kindergarten and Justin has 6 weeks off work, so I am not overwhelmed...yet! The triplets are doing fantastic, they even almost doubled in weight!! I love being a mother. I think your blog is so cute. Justin is the one who updates our blog and he isn't really into the whole cute backgrounds and things like that but...well he is a guy :) Please keep in touch and I promise to keep in touch with you.
I Love that you have a red rocking chair! That's what I have in my girls' room too. Of course I didn't fix it up...I bought it that way! If only I had those abilities!
