Heartbeat

On Monday afternoon after a crazy long weekend (Friday Frank had a scout camp out, I worked a wedding Saturday, and Sunday we drove up and back to Show Low for Megan's sweet Hunter's baby blessing) we were able to go as a family and hear our new baby's heartbeat. With Maelee I took 3 pregnancy tests at home just to be sure - and I still wasn't convinced until I heard the heartbeat then. It was no different this time and it definitely feels real now that we have heard that little alien whooshing sound through one of my favorite inventions the fetal heart doppler. Frank thought it would be fun to bring Maelee with us to the appointment. Despite the fact that she was a little mean to some poor timid older child with the waiting room toys (I wasn't out there at the time but Frank said that Maelee had the other girl over at her Dad's side saying "Dad I can't go over there they are mean" within 2 minutes of the girl approaching the toys), it was worth bringing her when as soon as the doctor found the heartbeat Maelee froze from climbing Frank's shoulder and said "whoa" and stood transfixed listening until the machine was turned off. The new baby will be here on or before June 2nd (Maelee was 2 weeks early so maybe a May baby), we will find out gender and genetic details for CF in late December early January. We feel blessed and excited and realize that the pregnancy is long from over, but whatever happens we have a new person in our eternal family.

I was not smart and didn't catch a picture of Hunter in his blessing outfit, but here is a picture we took for Nana on Sunday with all her grandbabies in their Halloween costumes. Hunter is the pumpkin adorably squished between The Little Mermaid and the Bee.
